Coop Bioma will become an urban producer in 2015 thanks to the loan of a small piece of land by the University of Montreal at their new Outremont campus. We will be producing a range of leafy vegetables using a bio-intensive technique developed in Canadian called 'SPIN' farming, which stands for 'Small Plot Intensive' farming.
We will be selling our produce to local cafes, restaurants and farmers markets as well as using our facebook page as a virtual market.
Through out the growing season we will be giving workshops on various themes including: the SPIN Farming technique, composting basics and soil fertility. Stay tuned, check our facebook page and calendar .
As part of our social implication, we will be collaborating with local eco-quartiers and other community groups to organize workshops, work sessions, experiments and tours. We will also be donating a percentage of our produce to local community projects.
